I really never expected to be talking so much about my geek interests when I started this fashion blog.

But here I go again.

Today I got my Luckymag ‘Lucky Breaks‘ email, alerting me of their daily flash deal (btw, I highly suggest signing up for these) and I saw this pretty little thing.

I adore simple pieces like this and immediately decided to buy it.

Then I read the summary and received a little bonus geek squee!

November 1941 Bracelet by Tiffany Chou

As she set about creating the white enamel-dabbed points on this bracelet, jewelry designer (and closet comic book obsessive) Tiffany Chou was inspired by the Green Arrow, a somewhat obscure DC Comics superhero. In fact, she named the piece “November 1941″ in honor of the crafty, crime-fighting archer’s world debut. Weird coincidence: the Green Arrow character will resurface in a dishy actor-filled CW series this fall, potentially making this here bracelet the season’s must-have accessory.

I never thought I’d be talking about the GREEN ARROW on this blog. Spiderman, maybe. Batman, probably. Hulk, for sure. But the Green Arrow. Never. But there it is.

Tiffany Chou has some gorgeous pieces available on her website. But if you’re interested specifically in the November 1941 Bracelet it’s $50 when you enter the code luckydaily2 at checkout today only.

And just a taste of the hottie playing the lead role in the upcoming series “Arrow”.

I have some vague, fond memories of Green Arrow's 1970s comic, shared with Green Lantern, which did a lot of "Social-Issue" stories that I don't recall being too embarrassing.

But I'm commenting because, a few years ago, I was passenging in my wife's car, sort of zoning out while sitting at a traffic light, and grooving to the music on the radio, when she suddenly blurted out, "I hate the Green Arrow!"

I was shocked! I adore my wife, but her interest in comics and superheroes is next to nil. We weren't talking about them at all at that moment, much less an obscure DC character! And, while he's obscure for good reasons, generally sort of a silly character in the old days, surely there was nothing so offensive about him as to earn such vicious, corrosive hatred!

I stared over at her, eyes wide, mouth gaping, and managed to say, "You... Really!?!?!?"

"Yeah," she told me. "You can never tell when it's changed!"

I started talking about Dick Giordano, in the '70s, redesigning the costume and giving him the funky facial hair, and Cindy stared at me like I was suffering a mental disorder.

"What are you talking about?"

"The Green Arrow."

Her expression hit that sweet spot between pity and contempt, and she pointed to the traffic light, where Red and Yellow were simple disks of color, but Green was a set of arrows, small and hard to see, indicating permitted directions of travel.
